RAPALA'S LONG CAST MINNOW
Roberto Ferrario

For the new year Rapala will introduce on the market a new limited edition lure: the Long Cast Minnow of 12 centimeters. This new lure is created for both freshwater and saltwater fishing.

The development process of the new Long Cast Minnow is a slow and painstaking process. Intensive handwork, craftsmanship and engineering genius are the hallmark of this new lure.

The Rapala weight transfer system is unique, proprietary and patent-pending. It's been designed to make this lure very long casting while maintaining an excellent swimming action. In the process of casting and retrieving, the internal weights shift and "lock" in the desired position of the lure to maintain proper balance and action. The locking system also makes it possible to jerk the lure on retrieve without causing the weight to shift or move to the back of the lure, which would destroy the lure's swimming action.

The internal weight transfer system is hand-fitted in a specially lathed balsa lure cavity. This assures proper fit and balance. Each lure is sealed, sanded and finished with seven coats of paint and lacquer. To top it all off, individual tank-testing and hand-tuning guarantee each lure will have the famous Rapala swimming action, right out of the box.

It is produced in 10 colors and in the unique size of 12 centimeters.
